In darkness, the IR LEDs integrated into the transmitter are automatically activated. The IR light is not visible
to the human eye. Note that when the IR LEDs are activated, the image on the LC display is presented only
in greyscale (without colour).
• When the device is operated on the mains, a small plug symbol appears in the upper right of the display.
During battery operation, a battery symbol appears in this location, which also shows the battery status
at the same time. If this symbol blinks red, the batteries are drained and should be replaced as soon as
possible.
A bar graph in the upper left of the display stands for the signal strength of the transmitter's wireless signal.
• Install the transmitter in a suitable place. Alternatively, it can be hung from a nail, hook or screw, using the
wall mounting opening on the back.
• The camera in the transmitter can be swivelled to the left, to the right, up and down and thus can be
directed toward the area to be monitored.
Operation
Set volume, volume level display
The microphone in the transmitter is installed under the camera lens (3). With this microphone, noises in the
child's room are picked up and transmitted wirelessly to the receiver.
The playback volume can be adjusted with the volume control (17) on the right side of the receiver.
In addition, 4 LEDs (13) under the display provide a visual representation of the noise level. The more LEDs
light up, the louder the noises in the child's room are.
Switch on/off the noise alarm
Move the "Alarm" switch (8) on the back of the transmitter to the "VOX" position.
If a volume level is exceeded, an alarm tone is activated on the receiver. You are thereby alerted to loud
noises in the child's room without having to keep the receiver unit constantly in your fi eld of vision.
The volume of the alarm signal depends on the setting of the volume control. Therefore, do not
set it to the lowest position!
The alarm tone is automatically ended after 2 minutes; for about 35 seconds afterwards, no new activation is
possible. The alarm tone can also be switched off early with the button "
Energy-saving mode
The display of the receiver switches itself off after a while to save power. The energy-saving mode can also
be manually activated by pressing the button "
The display is automatically activated if noises in the child's room are detected or if you press the "
button (16) briefl y.
Selecting the channel
The receiver is already pre-programmed on delivery to Channel 1.
Make sure that the channel selection switch on the side of the transmitter (6) is set to "CH1"
(Channel 1).
Otherwise, no image will appear in the LC display!
If multiple transmitters are reported to the receiver (maximum 4 possible; for instructions, see next section),
you can switch among these by briefl y pressing the "
shown at the top of the display.
If you press the "
" button for about 3 seconds, the switching between channels occurs automatically.
Reporting transmitter/camera to the receiver
• First select a channel on the transmitter with the channel selection switch (6). If multiple transmitters are
available, each must be set to its own channel!
• On the receiver, press and hold the "
fl ashes very rapidly (approx. 3 seconds).
• Move the "Learning" switch (9) to the "ON" position briefl y (about 1 second) and then back to the "OFF"
position.
The fl ashing LED on the receiver goes out; the transmitter was successfully reported, and the image ap-
pears in the display.
This procedure can also be used if you fi nd disruptions in the image (e.g. caused by other wire-
less transmission systems) and want to try another channel.
Use of the earphone
Plug the earphone provided into the "Audio Out" earphone jack (14) on the receiver. The speaker (21) of the
receiver is thereby switched off automatically.
Maintenance and Care
• The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason.
• Before cleaning, the product is to be switched off and separated from the mains voltage; pull the plug-in
power supply from the mains socket.
• The outside of the housing should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not use aggressive
cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing (discolouring) or impair operation.
Do not press too hard on the surfaces; otherwise, scratches are possible or the display could be destroyed.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.

Disposal
a) Product
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any rechargeable batteries inserted and dispose of them separately from the product.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
The end user is legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Do
not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are:
Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead (marked on batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. under
the rubbish bin symbol shown to the left).
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your community's collection
point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
Information about the range
The range of transmission of the radio signals from the transmitter to the receiver is up to 300 m. under
optimum conditions. This is often also called "free fi eld range".
However, this ideal arrangement (e.g. transmitter and receiver on a plain, even meadow without
trees, houses, etc.) never exists in practice.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g., radiators)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interference, e.g. in residence areas (WLAN routers, mobiles, wireless headphones and loud-
speakers, other baby monitoring devices, etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
Since local conditions vary from site to site, a defi nite range cannot be guaranteed.
Normally, however, operation in a single-family house without problems is possible; if you have
"
trouble receiving, choose a different set-up location.
