operates at the m axim um speed (3000m in
the speed according to the m aterial to be cut and
w orking efficiency.
CAUTION:
At low speed (dial setting: 1 or 2) do not cut a w ood
w ith a thickness of m ore than 10 m m or m etal w ith a
thickness of m ore than 1 m m .
7. Adjusting the orbital operation
(1) This Jig Saw em ploys orbital operation w hich m oves
the blade back and forth, as w ell as up and dow n. Set
the change knob show n in Fig. 5 to " 0" to elim inate
the orbital operation (the blade m oves only up and
dow n). The orbital operation can be selected in 4 steps
from " 0" to " III" .
(2) For the hard m aterial, such as a steel plate, etc.,
decrease the orbital operation. For the soft m aterial,
such as lum ber, plastic, etc., increase the orbital
operation to increase w ork efficiency. To cut the
m aterial accurately, decrease the orbital operation.
8. Cutting stainless steel plates
This Jig Saw can cut stainless steel plates by using
No. 97 blade. Carefully read " Concerning cutting of
stainless steel plates" for proper operation.
9. Splinter guard
Using the splinter guard w hen cutting w ood m aterials
w ill reduce splintering of cut surfaces.
Insert the splinter guard in the space on the base, and
push it com pletely. (See Fig. 6)
10. Chip cover
Ch i p co v er p r ev en t s ch i p s f r o m f l y i n g o f f an d
im proves the efficiency of dust collector.
Insert the chip cover betw een the base and lever, and
push w ith a slight pressure until it catches in place.
(Fig. 7)
When rem oving chip cover, hold both sides of knob
and slightly open until it can be rem oved from the Jig
Saw . (Fig. 8)
NOTE:
There is a possibility that chip cover is frosted w hen
cutting the m etal.
11. Sub base
Using the sub base (m ade from steel) w ill reduce
abrasion of alum inium base especially in cutting
m etals.
Using the sub base (m ade from resin) w ill reduce
scratching of cut surface. Attach the sub base to the
bottom surface of base by attached 4 screw s.
12. Lighting up the lamp
To turn on the lam p, pull the trigger.
Release the trigger to turn off.
CAUTION:
Do not look in the light or see the source of light
directly.
CUTTING
CAUTION:
In order to prevent blade dislodging, dam age or
excessive w ear on the Plunger, please m ake sure to
have surface of the base plate attached to the w ork
piece w hile saw ing.
1. Rectilinear cutting
When cutting on a straight line, first draw a m arking
gauge line and advance the saw along that line. Using
the guide (sold separately) w ill m ake it possible to
cut accurately on a straight line.

). Adjust
(1) Loosen the base bolt hexagonal bar w rench attached
on base. (Fig. 9)
(2) M ove the base fully forw ard (Fig. 10), and tighten the
base bolt again.
(3) Attach the guide by passing it through the attachm ent
hole on the base and tighten the M 5 bolt. (Fig. 11)
(4) Set the orbital position to " 0" .
NOTE:
To ensure accurate cutting w hen using the Guide
(Fig.11), alw ays set the orbital position to " 0" .
2. Saw ing curved lines
When saw ing a sm all circular arc, reduce the feeding
speed of the m achine. If the m achine is fed too fast, it
could cause the blade to break.
3. Cutting a circle or a circular arc
The guide also w ill be helpful for circular cutting.
After attaching the guide by same way noted as above,
drive the nail or screw into the m aterial through the
hole on the guide, then use it for an axis w hen cutting.
(Fig. 12)
NOTE:
Ci r cu l ar cu t t i n g m u st b e d o n e w i t h t h e b l ad e
approxim ately vertical to the bottom surface of the
base.
4. Cutting metallic materials
(1) Adjust the speed Dial betw een scales " 3" and " 4" .
(2) Set the orbital position to " 0" or " I" .
(3) Alw ays use an appropriate cutting fluid (spindle oil,
soapy w ater, etc.). When a liquid cutting fluid is not
available, apply grease to the back surface of the
m aterial to be cut.
5. Pocket cutting
(1) In lum ber
Aligning the blade direction w ith the grain of the
w ood, cut step by step until a w indow hole is cut in
the center of the lum ber. (Fig. 13)
(2) In other m aterials
When cutting a w indow hole in m aterials other than
lum ber, initially bore a hole w ith a drill or sim ilar tool
from w hich to start cutting.
6. Angular cutting
The base can be sw iveled to both sides by up to 45°
for angular cutting. (Fig. 14)
(1) Loosen the base bolt by hexagonal bar w rench
attached on base and m ove the base fully forw ard.
(Fig. 9, 10)
(2) Align the scale (from 0 degrees to 45 degrees by 15-
degree increm ents) of the sem i-circular part of the
base w ith the [ ] m ark on the gear cover. (Fig. 15)
(3) Tighten the M 5 bolt again. (Fig. 9)
(4) Set the orbital position to " 0" .
NOTE:
Angular cutting can not be done w hen adopting chip
cover or dust collector.
CONNECTING WITH CLEANER
By connecting w ith cleaner (sold separately) through dust
collector and adapter (sold separately), m ost of dust can
be collected.
(1) Rem ove the hexagonal bar w rench from the base.
(2) M ove the base fully forw ard. (Fig. 9, 10)
(3) Attach the chip cover.
(4) Connect the dust collector w ith adapter. (Fig. 16)
(5) Connect the adapter w ith the nose of cleaner. (Fig.
16)
