Reduce charging factor
The electronic charging control unit (A1) contains the plug-in bridge X17 with which the charging
factor of the storage unit can be selected in 4 stages (positions I, II, III or IV) in connection with the
variable connecting lead. Four-stage charging factor adaptation (100 / 90 / 80 70 %). A charging
factor of 100 % (position I) is preselected at the factory.
If the plug-in bridge is plugged to another pin array, a reduced charging factor applies (switch-off
temperature of the electronic charging control unit is reduced).
2.2.3 Electronic Charging Control Unit
Behaviour in case of fault
The charging control unit in the heater is set at the factory to "positive fault behaviour (80 % PS),
i.e. in the case of a defective charging control unit (e.g. failure of the control signal), the unit is
fully charged.
The unit can be switched to "negative fault behaviour" (no charging of the storage heater) by
moving the plug-in bridge X16 to position "80 % NS" when the heater is connected to a digital
charging control unit.
Operation with the charging control unit
The appropriate notes in the operating and installation instructions of the charging control unit
must be observed.
Control signal
The electronic charging control unit can be connected to different control signals (ED) of control
units and can therefore be integrated in existing systems.
It is factory set to an AC control signal (AC voltage signal at terminals "A1" and "A2") with 80 % ED.
Other ED signals (68/72, 37/40 %) can be selected by moving the plug-in bridge X16. This is
necessary when the unit is integrated in an already existing system which controls the charging
with one of the named ED signals.
Connection to DC control signal (X3) (see circuit diagram page 18)
If a charging control unit with DC control signal (DC voltage 0.91 V-1,43 V) is installed in the
system, the control signal must be connected to the control terminals covered at the factory
"DC +" (plus pole) and "DC-" (minus pole) (Pay attention to polarity!).
The 230 V AC control signal may not be connected to the "DC +" and "DC –" terminals. The charging
control unit would otherwise be destroyed.
