17. Handling
Observe all safety instructions of this operating manual!
Do avoid following unfavourable conditions at the set up place or during the transporting:
- wetness or too high air humidity
- extreme coldness or heat
- direct solar radiation
- dust or inflammable gases, steams or solvents
- strong vibrations
- strong magnetic fields such as near engines or other loudspeakers
Never turn on the TV/DVD combined set immediately after it has been brought from a cold into a warm room. Condensation water that
forms might destroy your device.
Leave the TV-DVD set switched off and wait until it has reached room temperature. It could take some hours.
Make sure the insulation of the whole product is neither damaged nor destroyed.
When installing the TV/DVD combined set take care not to squeeze or buckle the mains cable and all other connection cables.
Never pull the power plug by pulling the cable from the socket! Disconnect the power plug only by pulling on the gripping surfaces.
The product must not be opened. There are no parts inside the device which you should service.
Check the product on damages, before you take it into operation!
If you find any damages, DO NOT connect the product to the mains voltage! There may be danger of life invol-
ved!
If the TV/DVD combined set is not operated for a major period of time turn it off via the mains switch on the front side.
Never insert pointed objects (e.g. ball-point pens, pins or knitting needles, paper clips, etc.) into the ventilation
slots and other openings of the set.
Children could try to stick objects (e.g. toys) into the ventilation slots, openings of the set or into the CD tray.
It can cause perilous electric shock danger and damage the device!

18. Maintenance and cleaning

Check the technical safety of the product and the devices connected thereto, e.g. any damage to the housing or mains cable.
If there is room to believe that safe operation has become impossible put the set out of operation and secure it against any unintend-
ed operation. Pull the power plug from the power socket!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible if
• the set exhibits visible damage,
• the set does not operate any longer and
• the set was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
Before cleaning or servicing the device observe the following safety instructions:
Before cleaning, servicing or repairing the set disconnect it from all voltage sources. Withdraw the power plug from the
mains socket. It is insufficient to turn it off via the mains switch!
The interior of the product does not house any components that need maintenance by the user; never open the housing.
Repairs or opening of the device may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the hazards
involved and the relevant regulations.
It is sufficient to use a soft, dry, non-fluffy cloth for cleaning the exterior of the product.
For more intense impurities, you may slightly wet the cloth with lukewarm water.
Never use aggressive cleansing agents or chemical solvents since this might damage the housing surface or impair operation.
Wait until the TV/DVD combined set is completely dry before rejoining and reconnecting it to the mains voltage.
