9. Basic functions

a) How to turn ON and OFF:
Turn the device on via the mains switch on the front side of the device (B).
The Standby LED (= Power-LED) (C) starts illuminated, the device is now in the "Standby" mode.
There are three options to turn the set on:
• Press the " " key of the remote control unit (46)
• Press the "CH " or CH " key on the front side of the device (D)
• Press the "CH " or "CH " key of the remote control unit (13)
Press the " " key of the remote control unit (46) to turn the device off.
The device switches then into the "Standby" mode. To avoid unnecessary power consumption, turn the device off
additionally via the mains switch on the front side, if you do not need it for a major period of time.
b) How to select a channel/transmitter
To select a channel/transmitter, you must first store them (see chapter 8).
Press the "CH " or "CH " key (on the front side of the device or of the remote control unit) to select the desired transmitter. A respec-
tive channel number appears on the display.
To select special transmitters, press the respective numeral key, e.g. "8" of the remote control unit.
To select two-digit channel numbers (e.g. "16"), first switch into the "Two-Digit Mode" via the "-/--" (19) key.
Then press the numeral keys one after another (e.g. press shortly the key "1" and then release it, afterwards press shortly the key "6"
and release it).
To select in this mode a transmitter having a one-digit channel number you may either change over into the "One-Digit
Mode" via the "-/--" key or enter the one-digit channel number with a leading 0 (zero), e.g. enter "08" rather than "8".
c) How to adjust the volume, muting
Select the desired volume via the "VOL " or "VOL " key on the front side of the device (E) or of the remote control unit (36).
The sound reproduction can be muted via the "MUTE" key of the remote control unit (47) (e.g. if you wish to make a phone call). Press
the button " MUTE " again to stop muting.

10. Special functions

a) How to adjust the brightness, colour intensity, contrast, sharpness
Press the "MENU" key of the remote control unit (32) or on the device (F)
By using the "VOL " or "VOL " key select the "PICTURE" control
Press the " CH " or " CH " key
By using the "CH " or "CH " key select one of the following settings:
"BRIGHTNESS"
"COLOUR"
"CONTRAST"
"SHARPNESS"
By using "VOL " or "VOL " key change the adjusted value
Press the "MENU" key to finish settings. As an option, you can wait for a while and the setting mode will be exited automatically.
b) How to precisely tune the TV transmitters
The TV tuner has a so-called "AFT" function (Auto Fine Tuning). It automatically tunes each transmitter in an ideal way. Therefore, any
fine tuning is unnecessary to precisely tune the transmitters received if reception is good (e.g. via a cable connection)!
However, if you only have a simple roof-mounted or even room-mounted antenna the picture/sound quality of the transmitter received
may be improved via the manual fine tuning operation.
If you have not already tuned transmitters manually via the fine tuning, proceed as follows:

Durch Drücken dieser Taste kann bei DVDs das Kapitel ("CHAPTER"), der Titel ("TITLE") oder die gesamte DVD ("ALL") wiederholt wer-
den.
Zum Deaktivieren der Funktion drücken Sie die Taste sooft, bis die Einblendung (CHAPTER/TITLE/ALL) verschwindet.

j) A-B-Wiederholfunktion, Taste "REPEAT A-B" (45)

Mit dieser Funktion können zwei Stellen im Film markiert werden. Der dazwischen liegende Teil wird dann immer wieder abgespielt
(von Stelle A bis Stelle B).
Drücken Sie während dem Film die Taste "REPEAT A-B" (45) und z.B. einige Sekunden später nochmals.
Der zwischen den beiden Tastendrücken markierte Filmteil wird nun immer wieder abgespielt.
Eine Einblendung zeigt Ihnen an, dass die Wiederholfunktion eingeschaltet ist.
Zum Ausschalten der Wiederholfunktion drücken Sie die Taste "REPEAT A-B" nochmals, so dass die Einblendung verschwindet.
k) DVD-Kapitel direkt wählen
Anstelle die Kapitel mühsam einzeln mit den Skip-Tasten weiterzuschalten, können Sie sie über Zahlentasten 0-9 und der Taste "+10"
der Fernbedienung (7) direkt anwählen.
Nach dem Drücken einer Taste wird die Nummer des Kapitels angezeigt (z.B. beim Druck auf die Taste "5" erfolgt z.B. die Einblendung
"CHAPTER 05/17") und das jeweilige Kapitel wird abgespielt.
Zum Abspielen eines Kapitels größer als 10 drücken Sie die Taste "+10" (evtl. mehrmals) und danach eine der Zahlentasten 0-9 für die
hintere Stelle.
Die Einblendung verschwindet, das angewählte Kapitel wird abgespielt.

l) Zoom-Funktion, Taste "ZOOM" (41)

Drücken Sie diese Taste mehrfach, um die gewünschte Zoom-Stufe auszuwählen; die jeweilige Vergrößerungsstufe wird eingeblendet.
Mit den vier Richtungstasten " ", " ", " "und " " kann der angezeigte Bildausschnitt ausgewählt werden.
Um wieder zum normalen Bild zurückzukehren, drücken Sie die Taste so oft, bis die Einblendung der Vergrößerungsstufe wieder ver-
schwindet.
Ein erneuter Druck auf die "ZOOM"-Taste schaltet den Zoom-Modus wieder aus.

m) Markier-Funktion, Taste "MARK" (3)

Über diese Funktion können Sie bis zu 12 Stellen der eingelegten DVD markieren, die dann zum Abspielen direkt angesprungen wer-
den können.
• Film-Position markieren
Drücken Sie bei laufendem Film die Taste "MARK" der Fernbedienung (3).
Es erscheint folgende Einblendung:

Wählen Sie mit den Pfeiltasten " ", " ", " "und " " eines der 12 Kästchen. Drücken Sie dann die Taste "PLAY" der Fernbedie-
nung (34), um den Speicher mit der Filmposition zu belegen.
Im ausgewählten Kästchen erscheint eine Zahl, die Ihnen anzeigt, dass der Speicher belegt ist.
Unter den Kästchen erscheinen Informationen zu der markierten Stelle.
Dabei bedeuten: "TT" = Titelnummer, "CH" = Kapitelnummer, "TIME" = Zeitposition

Drücken Sie erneut die Taste "MARK", damit die Einblendung verschwindet.
