Installation
Guidelines
- Alarm signaling devices must be installed so that
- They are easily visible,,
- They are not affected by lightening,
- They cannot be reached without using e.g. a ladder.
- The housing must be attached directly to the wall
without a space between.
- Only use stainless steel screws.
For detailed information, please refer to our leaflet on "Electrical
installation of Intrusion detection systems" (P03061-15-000-xx).
For installation as per VdS, two independent acoustic alarm
signaling devices and one optical signaling device is required.
Compact alarm device
The compact alarm device can be installed with either the flash lamp at
the top or underneath.
The installation height is of importance. The higher the alarm device is
installed, the more easily visible is the flash lamp when it is installed
underneath.
Determine the degree of visibility by testing.
With direct climatic influence we recommend to mount the flash lamp on
top.
Installation aid
To ensure that your hands are free during installation, the top part of the
housing can be attached to the bottom part. Proceed according to the
following illustrations.
If the compact alarm device is installed with the flash lamp
underneath, the steps shown in the following illustrations are
turned for 180°.

Remove the reach-through protection from the bottom part of the

housing and insert in the top part of the housing.
The bottom clip of the reach-through protection is outside the top

part of the housing.
Turn the top part of the housing together with the reach-through

protection 180°.
The top part of the housing can now be attached to the bottom

part of the housing.
