3.1 General information
ISDN same as the most digital transfer modes require bus type cabling for
terminal equipment. This means that all terminals are connected in series to
one line.

In the beginning of ISDN this kind of connecting terminal equipment has
been the easiest and most used technique, however it is not in accordance
with the usual installation style for data and communication technology.
Premises installation always used star type cabling, the different wall outlets
being directly connected by installation cables to a central distributor.
