The control module 1370-20 contains, alongside the actual electronic control
circuitry, all the necessary switching and display elements. Three LEDs are
used for optical display of the operating status; all operational switching
functions can be triggered by means of a key-operated switch; actuation of the
red illuminated panic button leads to an immediate release of the emergency
exit lock. This is also signalled acoustically by the alarm buzzer, which is also
integrated in the housing.
3.1

Operating and display elements

3.1.1

Emergency switch

The most important element of the control module is the emergency switch,
whose actuator is configured as a red, illuminated panic button. When actuated,
this interrupts the circuit of the locking element and so unlocks the door. At the
same time, an alarm is triggered.
The cover of the emergency switch is pressed in when the button is actuated. It
can be set in such a way that it is thereby destroyed, or so that it remains unda-
maged. The actuator button locks in the depressed position and must be relea-
sed after acknowledging the alarm by turning slightly to the left or right. To reset
the emergency switch, the cowling must first be removed. It is released from its
bearings by turning the key-operated switch as far as the second stop point
counter clockwise. This at the same time resets the alarm.
3.1.2

Key-operated switch

Using the key-operated switch integrated in the control module, all operational
functions of the emergency exit security system such as temporary and perma-
nent unlocking, locking and alarm acknowledgement can be performed.
3.1.3

LED display

Three LEDs indicate the current status of the locking system:
· The yellow LED indicates an active alarm.
· The green LED indicates an unlocked door.
· The red LED indicates a locked door.
