b) Installation location
• The product may only be used in dry, closed interior areas, it must not get damp
or wet! Never set up the product in the direct vicinity of a bathroom, a shower or a
bathing tub or similar! There is a danger to life through an electric shock!
• Do not place the heater directly underneath a wall socket.
• Choose an appropriate mounting place. It must be fi xed, big enough, level, stable
and far away enough from infl ammable materials and items (i.e. curtains, furniture,
doors, etc.). Maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 m. Never place the power cord in
front of the heater.
The heater is only suitable for mounting horizontally, level, even and on a suf-
fi ciently big surface (i.e. fl oor).
• The heater must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight or strong
vibrations.
• Never place the heater on an unstable or movable surface. Always place the
heater in such a way that it cannot tilt or topple over.
A security switch at the underside will automatically switch off the heater if it is lifted
off the fl oor or when it tips over. Never block this security switch!
Despite the safety switch there is a risk of fi re if the device tilts/falls over! Further-
more people could be injured, or the device damaged.
• Due to the weight of the heater and the radiating heat, you should never place the
heater on a valuable fl oor surface without suitable protection. Otherwise it may not
only cause scratch marks or pressure marks, but also discoulorations due to the
radiating heat.
• Never use the heating device in any kind of vehicle or similar moving objects or
spaces; it is only suited for use in buildings.
• Unwind the mains cable completely during operation. The power cable must not
be pinched or damaged by contact with sharp edges. Do not place any objects on
the cable, and do not allow it to become kinked. Install the cable where no one
can stumble over it and the plug is easily accessible. Do not install the mains cable
under carpets or the like.
• Do not operate the device in environments where there are high levels of dust,
fl ammable gases, vapours or solvents. There is a danger of fi re and explosion!
c) Handling and operation
• Never plug in or unplug the plug-in power unit with damp or wet hands. There is a
risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never connect the device to the power supply immediately after it has been trans-
gerred from a cold room into a warm one. The condensation that develops in such
cases could damage the device or cause an electric shock! Allow the heater to
reach room temperature. Wait until the condensation has evaporated. This might
take several hours. Only after this should the heater be plugged in to the power
supply and put into use.
• Never operate the heater unsupervised.
• Do not use the heater in connection with an additional timer, a remote switching
device (e.g.remote controlled power socket) or similar devices, which automati-
cally switch on the heater. Covering the heater or installing it in a wrong location
may cause a fi re hazard.
• Never connect the heater to an extention cord or a dimmer or something similar.
Plug it directly into an earthed wall power outlet.
• When using the heater for the fi rst time, hot parts of the case may cause an irritat-
ing odour for a while. If you experience this, ventilate the room where the heater is
set up.
• Always pull the mains plug on the gripping surface intended for this purpose.
Never unplug the mains plug from the mains socket by pulling the cable!
• Unwind the mains cable completely during operation. If the cable is not unwound
completely, it can cause overheating; danger of fi re!
• Do not use the product when it is damaged (e.g. housing, mains cable). A defec-
tive connecting cable may only be replaced by a specialist. There is a risk of a
life-threatening electric shock!
• Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before cleaning the heater, or
when the heater is not to be used for a while.
• Always leave suffi cient space (at least 1.5 m) from combustible or fl ammable ma-
terials or objects (curtains, doors, furniture etc.). If the distance is too small, there
is a risk of fi re. Never operate the heater inside cabinets or other small enclosed
rooms. Fire hazard!
