Do not leave flat batteries in the device. Even batteries protected
against leaking can corrode and thus release chemicals which may
be detrimental to your health or destroy the device.
You can order suitable alkaline batteries stating the
following order no.:
Order no.: 65 23 03 (please order 2).
Only use alkaline batteries, since these are powerful
and have a long life.

Disposal of flat batteries

You as the end user are legally obliged (Ordinance on the Return
and Disposal of Used Batteries) to return all used batteries. Dis-
posal in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled
with the symbols shown to the left. These symbols also
indicate that disposal of these batteries in the house-
hold waste is prohibited. The symbols for the critical
heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mer-
cury, Pb = lead.
You can hand in your used batteries at no cost at official collection
points in your community, at our stores or anywhere batteries are
sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and make your contri-
bution to the protection of the environment.
