els ou corporels dus à une mauvaise manipulation du produit ou
au non-respect des consignes de sécurité. De tels dommages ne
sont pas couverts par la garantie.
Pour des raisons de sécurité et d'homologation (CE), la transformation personnelle

• The adjusted frame frequency (which you can change e.g. in the system control of
Windows 95/98) should be at least 75Hz with each resolution, if possible (see
above calculation examples), without overcharging the monitor.
• If you are sitting in front of the monitor for an extended period of time, working e.g.
on your word processor, you should make a short pause at the latest after every
30 minutes, to save your eyes.
If your eyes begin to hurt or to water, you should interrupt your work.

The settings for contrast and brightness should not be too high.
Your working place must be dazzle-free; moreover, other light sources (e.g. win-
dows) must not cause reflections on the screen.
The upper edge of the visible image should be approx. at eye level.
If the monitor is placed directly on the table, it is too low. If you cannot place your
monitor on the PC, due to the PC's design, you can use specific loud-speakers or
similar products which are placed underneath the monitor.
• The monitor's ON/OFF switch does not switch the mains voltage.
Thus, in order to save power, it is recommended to use e.g. a multiple socket out-
let with switch to which all consumers are connected which are not equipped with
mains switch.
These are e.g. computers with ATX power supply unit (the Power push-button on
the front side of such computers is NOT a mains switch!), scanners and PC loud-
speakers with plug-in power supply unit, power packs of USB or network hubs
and of many other PC components.
By adding the power consumption in standby mode of the above devices, 20 to
40 W are accumulated soon with a complex PC system - which amounts to one
kilowatt-hour (1kWh) per day; these are approx. 200 to 400 kWh per year! So,
even if you have a reasonably priced energy supply company, this multiple socket
outlet with switch will pay off soon...
