3. OPERATION
1.
Make sure that the On/Off switch is turned off. Plug the device into a power supply. An
extension cord can be used if necessary.
2.
Make sure the corn basket is securely attached to the supports.
3.
Make sure the popcorn maker's popcorn-basket motor is properly connected to the
socket at the bottom of the popcorn basket.
Warning: the corn basket will not heat up without the connector properly inserted.
4.
Use the measuring spoon provided to add a tablespoon of your favourite popcorn oil into
the corn basket. Using vegetable oil is recommended for best results.
5.
Use the corn-kernel measuring cup to add corn to the basket.
Note: when using pre-weighed packets of corn kernels, it is recommended to use both the
measuring cup and the measuring spoon to reweigh the ingredients. Follow the measurements
hereafter: 1 tablespoon of oil + 57 g of corn = 8 cups of popcorn (do not exceed 71 g of corn
kernels).
6.
Switch on the device and close the door. You will start hearing the popcorn popping after
a few seconds. The hot, freshly popped popcorn will pop out of the basket's hinged lids.
7.
Operate the light switch to check on the popcorn.
8.
Use the crank handle to empty the contents of the basket.
9.
Once the popcorn stops popping, turn off the device.
10. Empty all the popcorn from inside the popcorn basket. To do this, use the crank handle.
11.
Open the door, remove the popcorn tray, and serve the popcorn.
Tips
-
If smoke starts coming out during the cooking process, it may be due to a fat build-up. To
avoid smoke as much as possible, clean the inside of the corn basket between each use.
-
For best results, use shelled, natural corn kernels. Some corn brands tend to make kernels
with harder husks, which makes it harder for some to pop.
-
Use vegetable oil for best results.
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
-
Turn off, unplug the appliance, and let it cool down before cleaning it.
-
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the outer surface of the product and wipe it dry with a dry
cloth or paper towel. Do not use abrasive detergents, steel wool, or scouring pads.
-
Wipe the interior of the popcorn maker with a dry cloth. Make sure no liquid enters the
cavity of the appliance to prevent damaging it.
1.
Unscrew the handle and remove the corn basket from the supports.
2.
Remove the corn basket from the main unit and fill up 2/3 with warm, soapy water.
3.
Let the mixture stand in the corn basket for 15-20 minutes to break down the fat.
