11. Handling

• Never plug the power adapter into a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken from a
cold to a warm environment. The condensation that forms might damage the device.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condensation has evap-
orated.
• Never disconnect power adapters from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Always hold them at the
housing when disconnecting them from a mains socket.
• Unplug the power adapter if you are not going to use the device for a while.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during thunderstorms.
• Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing. This is
especially the case when using head or earphones.
Useful notes on handling CDs
• Hold CDs at the edges only. This avoids fingerprints on or soiling of the surface.
• Always place the CD in the CD tray (21) with the label side facing upwards.
• Handle CDs with clean hands only.
• If one of your CDs should be soiled, wipe it clean from the centre to the rim using a soft, lint-free cloth.
Never clean CDs in a circular motion. Never use solvents.
• If the soiling persists, please use a commercially available CD cleaning agent (do not use a cleaning
agent for records) and heed the manufacturer's instructions for use.
• Do not label your CDs and do not apply any stickers or the like.
• After playback, return your CDs to the protective cases provided.
• Avoid exposing stored CDs to direct sun radiation, heat and moisture.
