k) Playing a CD

Normal audio CDs but also MP3 CDs can be played.
• Press the OPEN/CLOSE button (9) to open the CD tray (21).
• Insert a CD in the CD tray (21) with the label facing upwards.
• Press the OPEN/CLOSE button (9) again to close the CD tray (21).
• Press the CD/USB/SD button (2) until "CD" appears in the display.
• The CD is read, then playback starts automatically.
• Further operation is as described in "Playback of a USB data carrier or an SD card" .
The following limitations apply when an audio CD is inserted:
Folder search is not possible as an audio CD does not have folders.
A maximum of 20 tracks can be programmed in a track series.

I) Recording and copying functions

Recording of radio, record player or external audio source
• Activate the desired operating mode (radio, record player or playback of an external audio source).
• Insert a USB data carrier into the USB interface (15) or an SD card onto the SD card reader (18).
• Press the REC/DEL button (13). The data carrier is read and then playback will start automatically after a
few seconds.
• If a USB data carrier as well as an SD card is inserted, select the desired recording medium while the
corresponding symbol is flashing in the display using the
the REC/DEL button (13) again. Recording will start after a few seconds.
• To stop recording, press the H button (17) or the REC/DEL button (13). The display shows "END" and
the operating mode selected before (radio, record player or playback of an external audio source) is
resumed.
The recording takes place in real-time.
The recording creates MP3 files with a bit rate of 128 kbit/s.
During recording from the radio, the reception frequency cannot be changed.
Short delays may occur between the individual operating steps as the data carrier must be read
first. The reading time is dependent on the size and the response time of the data carrier. During
this time, "WAI" is shown in the display.
