Safety Instructions
First, read the complete operating manual carefully, as it contains important
information about the proper operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The
warranty will be void in such cases!
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation to the prod-
uct is not permitted.
• This installation manual does not apply for all vehicle types. Due to the huge
number of manufacturers and automotive makes, the following installation steps
should serve as general guidelines. In case of vehicle-specifi c questions please
contact the manufacturer or a specialist workshop.
• The camera serves only as an aid in backing up. It does not absolve the driver from
his or her responsibility to drive carefully. The camera's operating principles may
mean that some obstacles are not shown, or are not reliably shown. The manufac-
turer accepts no liability for damages arising from such a case.
• A reverse driving system is intended to increase the safety and protection. It is not
intended to replace other safe driving habits. Making detailed checks and looking
around before reversing is recommended. This applies especially in the vicinity of
pedestrians or in areas with traffi c that crosses the direction of reverse travel as
well as for use in darkness or glaring light. The device's operating principles may
mean that some obstacles are not detected, or are not reliably detected.
• When installing and operating the system, always observe the applicable motor
vehicle regulations and road traffi c regulations. Get yourself familiarised before
driving in a foreign country whether the mounting, mounting location and operation
of the camera is permitted and does not violate applicable laws or ordinances.
• The function of the camera can be affected by heavy dirt or precipitation on the
lens.

Installation

• Mark the mounting point for the camera.
• Ensure that there is suffi cient free space for the camera housing behind the mounting sur-
face.
• Use the enclosed special drill to drill the mounting hole.
• After drilling, smooth the hole with a fi le or a sharp blade.
• Run the connection cable of the camera through the mounting hole and screw the camera in
place with theknurled nut.
• The camera is waterproof. This system construction enables use outside a motor
vehicle. To avoid damage to the camera from sprayed water getting into it, cleaning
the camera with cleaning devices that use pressurised water (steam blasters) is not
permitted. Contravention will result in loss of guarantee/warranty!
• Improper mounting and cabling of the camera can lead to damage of the electrical
system of the vehicle, including important computer and operating systems. This
could also lead to an accident or fi re, which could result in material damage and/or
serious personal injury. We recommend a qualifi ed automotive electrician carries
out the installation and connection.
• The device may be used only with the 12 V DC vehicle power supply (with the
negative terminal of the battery connected to the body of the vehicle). Never con-
nect the camera to any other voltage supply.
• Extra care should be taken when starting up the product. Therefore, please follow
the operating instructions carefully.
• Do not subject the camera to strong mechanical stress.
• Consult a qualifi ed person if you are unsure as to operation, safety or connection
of the camera.
• Do not leave packaging materials unattended. It may become a dangerous play-
thing for children.
• This product is not a toy; it is not suitable for children. Children are not aware of the
potential dangers involved when using electrical devices.
• Moreover, observe the additional safety instructions in each individual section of
these instructions.
• If in doubt about how to connect the product correctly, or should any questions
arise that are not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
Modifi cations to the vehicle made necessary due to the installation of the
product or other components must always be carried out in such a manner
that neither the traffi c safety nor the design stability of the motor vehicle are
impaired. With many vehicles, the MOT will be void if you cut out a section
of the sheet metal. Find out ahead of time from the vehicle manufacturer or a
specialist shop.
The camera is designed for installation on the rear of the vehicle. If it is in-
stalled on the front of the vehicle, damage from stone strikes cannot be ex-
cluded. The warranty will be void!
If you are in doubt when selecting a place for installation, consult your vehicle
dealer.
When installing your camera, take into consideration the risks that can arise
from components being torn away in the event of an accident. Therefore, you
should secure each component in a place where it will not pose a risk to pas-
sengers.
Before drilling, make sure that this will not damage any electric cables, brake
leads, the fuel tank or suchlike.
If holes are bored in the body of your vehicle, the fi lings must be removed,
and the bare metal areas must be protected against corrosion with suitable
measures (colour, preserving spray, etc.).
Be sure to follow the safety instructions, of the tool manufacturer, when using
tools to install your camera.
The camera must not obstruct the vehicle's rear lights or any other part of the
vehicle's equipment, and it must be fl ush with the edge of the vehicle.
When attaching the camera, you must always take its detection area into con-
sideration; otherwise it will not be able to show obstacles suffi ciently or at all.
The locations at which the camera is installed must be chosen carefully, as
this affects the effi ciency of the backup system as a whole. For this reason,
we recommend that you fi rst connect the camera provisionally and determine
the fi nal mounting location based on the image in the monitor.
The camera should never be installed directly above the exhaust pipe or at
too low a height above the ground. Additionally, no parts of the vehicle may
be within the camera's detection range. This would signifi cantly affect the rear
view.
