7. Initial operation

a) Transmitter

The transmitter can be operated with standard 9V block batteries (alkaline typ recommended)
if it is to be operated at changing places.
To this end, the battery compartment lid (7) can pushed out slightly at the
bottom (see arrow marking on the battery compartment lid) and then carefully
opened. Connect the battery with the battery clip, insert the battery in the
battery compartment and close it.
For longer operation, however, we recommend you use the supplied mains adapter (both
mains parts are equal).
Connect the low voltage adapter with the socket (5) on the transmitter. Put the
plug-in power supply into a mains socket.
The transmitter can either be placed on a sufficiently large, even, stable surface or fitted in the
suitable position with the clip (6) on the rear. A hole in the clip serves for fitting on a wall hook
or screw, for instance.
We recommend keeping a safety distance of at least 1m to your child. See
chapter 5.
The temperature display (2) shows you the room temperature in a special strip on the
transmitter antenna ranging from 10°C to 27°C.
Move the slide switch (3) from the "OFF" position to positions "1" or "2" in order to select
sending channels "1" or "2". The red LED (4) for operation display lights up.
Please observe that the same channel must be set on the transmitter and
receiver; otherwise to sound is transmitted.
The transmitter is automatically activated by ambient sounds and transfers them wirelessly via
radio.
Align the front of the transmitter (with the red LED) in the direction of the sound
source in order to ensure good sound recognition.
